Little kids love to play and that’s what they do while learning to wait their turn, follow directions and work together to accomplish simple goals. The focus is on body part recognition, cognitive skill development and of course FUN. For ages 5 and under.
Tai Chi Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline consisting of slow movements and postures done in a fluid and relaxed manner. It is used to reduce stress, improve muscle strength, increase flexibility, stamina, and agility, as well as the feeling of well being. For ages 15+.
Wilderness Station
Check out various science in nature self-guided hands on experiments in the warmth of the Wilderness Station. Such experiments are bird watching at our feeders from the back room windows, learning about how birds are able to make their long migration flights, and more! Weekdays 2-4:30 PM. For all ages.
Wilderness Station at Barfield Crescent Park
Have you ever wanted to try backpacking, but didn’t know where to start? Join us for an intro to backpacking course where one day a month December - April we will meet and go over the basics of backpacking. As the course goes on we will go on different length hikes of different difficulties. For the final day of the course we will do an overnight backpacking trip to put our new skills to the test! The class will meet December 30, January 20, February 25, March 25 and April 22 @ 4PM. Backpacking backpack, sleeping pad, and tent can be provided. Registration is required via the link.
