Let’s make a seasonal fall wreath to hang on the door! There will be different options, one wreath is made out of paper leaves and the other is a “what I’m thankful for” wreath! All materials will be provided, no registration required. For ages 2-12.
Barfield Crescent Park
Try your hand at this ancient spear-throwing technique. Atl atl use occurred all over the world in the early days of mankind. They were even used to hunt wooly mammoths! This program will provide historical information, instruction, and a chance to target throw. Though this program if free, please register by calling 615-217-3017 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Program meets in the open field next to pavilion 7 in Barfield Park.
What is that crawling, slithering, sliding, flying, and hopping across the trail or even in your backyard? Each week we will look at one of our resident education animals for a mini lesson of animals that call Tennessee home. Come out and meet the best teachers we have – the animals! Free for all ages.
St. Clair Senior Center
This class focuses on strength, balance, cardio, core, and range of motion. Saturday class added! You must sign up for all classes due to the limited number of spaces available. No class September 6 or October 7. Limit 35. Meets in Room 105.
In this class we will focus on core, balance and range of motion. Some resistance techniques may be used in the form of elastic bands or free weights. You must be able to transfer to and from a mat. You must sign up for all classes due to the limited number of spaces available. For ages 60+. Limit 10. Meets in Room 206. No class November 25.
Open Tai Chi class is open to all levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced and is taught by Eli Smith. The cost is $10 per month. Limit 20. Meets in Room 204. No class December 25.
Beginners and intermediate level students are welcome in this class. Learn to make a copper-foiled stained glass window suncatcher with instructor Fiona Dowd. Materials will be provided for beginners. Class space is limited. Sign up early. Class meets November 6, 13 and 20.
