It's hot out, but that shouldn't keep you from challenging yourself. Why not complete a triathlon this summer - the slow and steady way? Swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles over the course of the summer. Track your progress on provided logs, then turn in by the end of the summer (July 31) for a t-shirt. Register at Sports*Com from May 1-May 31. For all ages.
Toddlers love to play, and that's what they do while learning to wait their turn, follow directions and work together to accomplish simple goals. The focus is on body part recognition, cognitive skill development, and of course, FUN!
Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 3-4 years old. This 7-week program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun and safe environment. It also prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Registration will be held throughout the month of May at Sports*Com, McFadden Community Center, the main office at Barfield Crescent Park and online at murfreesborotn.gov/parks. Space is limited.
Bring a donation of paper towels or cleaning products to this outreach program offered by Beesley Animal Foundation. Rabies shots will be given to both cats and dogs. Dogs will receive Parvo/ Distemper shots and the Rabies vaccine. Cats will receive their feline distemper and Rabies vaccines. This service is FREE of charge. Cats must be in carriers and dogs on leashes. No walk-ins will be accepted. Meets in Room R502. Space limited to 75 and sign-up is required.
This class will teach participants to play and understand basic chords and songs for immediate enjoyment! Bring your guitar. This class is taught by Jane McNulty. Pay instructor first day of class by cash or check. Call the center to make your reservation. Limited to 12 students.
