Two juvenile females were arrested earlier this week in connection with several fires that appeared to be intentionally set in the area of Agri Park Drive on December 25.
Several small brush fires were set on a property adjacent to the Apartments at Harpers Pointe. A hay bale and an abandoned barn were also set on fire.
The juveniles appeared in court this week on charges of reckless burning, one count each. MFRD’s Fire Marshal’s Office and the Assistant District Attorney met to discuss if the juveniles should be released or held.
According to Assistant Fire Marshal Tracy Summar, it was determined that the two should be released into the custody of their parents.
A court hearing has been set for March 17, 2014.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
