[ARCHIVED] Early Morning Fire at Redwood Park Apartments

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s District 8 and Engines 1 and 3 responded to a fire at Redwood Park Apartments, 3020 South Rutherford Boulevard, just before 6:00 Saturday morning.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from Apartment C-3. They entered the unit and located the fire in a back bedroom.

According to Shift Commander Daryl Alexander, crews made entry and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was contained to the bedroom. “The door to that bedroom was shut,” said Alexander. “That helped keep it from spreading to other areas of the unit.”

No one was injured during the incident.

The occupants will be displaced and assistance will be offered from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. However, the Fire Marshal’s Office is en route to conduct a routine investigation.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
