[ARCHIVED] MFRD Crews Respond to House Fire at 215 E McKnight Drive

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s District 1, District 4, and Rescues 2 and 8 responded to a house fire with possible entrapment at 215 E McKnight Drive around 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

Upon arrival, crews discovered heavy smoke and flames coming from the back side of the home. Crews immediately began search and rescue, but no victims were found. It was later discovered that no one was home during the fire.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly according to officials on scene. “They did an outstanding job containing the fire damage to the addition of the home which consisted of a kitchen/dining area, living room area, and utility room,” said Assistant Fire Marshal Michael Bartlett.

According to Bartlett, the fire appears to have started at the back of the home and is considered accidental at this time. A full investigation is expected to take place on Monday.

No one was injured during the incident. The residents were displaced, but declined assistance from the American Red Cross.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
