MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) Detective Cody Thomas has been named, ‘Officer of the Year,’ by the Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro.
“I am humbled to be chosen as the ‘officer of the year’ from MPD,” said Thomas. “Being recognized for the work that I do is truly an honor. I’m privileged to work with many other outstanding public servants who all have the same goal of serving our community.”
Thomas was presented the award at the Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro 2020 Crime Prevention Banquet held at Through the Grapevine on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Thomas began his career with MPD in July 2008 as a patrol officer. He was later assigned as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and then promoted to Detective in March 2016. Thomas is currently assigned to the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
Thomas is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration.
