[ARCHIVED] City Building & Codes Department Schedules Stakeholders Meeting June 2

The Murfreesboro Building & Codes Department has scheduled a special Stakeholders Meeting concerning proposed sign changes, Tuesday, June 2, 2020. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 111 W. Vine St., City Hall, Murfreesboro, 38128.

Who:     The Murfreesboro Building & Codes Department and Stakeholders.

What:    The Building and Codes Department will gather in Stakeholders Meeting to review proposed changes to the Sign Ordinance. Attendees are asked to RSVP to Teresa Stevens, City of Murfreesboro Sign Administrator, by called 615-893-3750 or e-mailing tstevens@murfreesborotn.gov. Social distancing will be observed.

When:    June 2, 2020, 5:00 p.m.

Proposed changes include the following:

  • Allowable signs for drive-thru lanes and exterior customer transaction portals (ATM’s, Fuel Pumps): Limited changeable sign-electronic graphic display signs will be permitted.
  • Temporary Sign Ordinance changes: reduced maximum square feet from 32- square feet to 16-square feet.
  • Murals: No longer limited to two sides and clarify front exterior wall.
  • Confiscated signs from Right-of-Way (ROW) will no longer be returned.
