Sunday, November 3 is the official end to Daylight Savings Time. Although we will all miss our sunny evenings, we will gain an hour of sleep on Saturday night.
While you are setting your clocks back one hour, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department also suggests that you change the batteries in the smoke detectors in your homes.
If you live in the city limits of Murfreesboro and are unable to change the batteries on your own, MFRD will gladly assist you.
It’s also a good time to have MFRD assess your home to ensure that you have the correct amount of smoke detectors and that they are all working properly.
MFRD’s Project SAFE “Smoke Alarms for Everyone” program provides smoke detectors and installation free of charge. There are also devices available for the hearing or visually impaired. Contact MFRD at 615-893-1422 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
