The City of Murfreesboro Planning Department will hold a Public Meeting on the proposed City Core Overlay (CCO) Zoning District, Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The Public Meeting will be held in the rotunda on the first floor of City Hall, 111 West Vine Street in Murfreesboro. The format of the meeting is come and go, with information stations and staff available to answer any questions concerning the proposed Core Overlay Zoning District. All interested business owners, developers, and citizens are encouraged to attend.
Who: City of Murfreesboro Planning Department and interested stakeholders
What: Public Meeting
When: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1
Where: Rotunda, City Hall
111 West Vine Street
Murfreesboro, TN 37133
Attendees can talk to Planning Department staff about the proposed ordinance and how it might affect their property. The proposed CCO District would support new developments in the Downtown area that are compatible with existing developments. If a vacant property on a block is developed, the CCO ordinance would require the new structure to have a height restriction and setback like other structures on the block. The ordinance does not apply to old structures.
The proposed CCO ordinance can be viewed online at: www.murfreesborotn.gov/planning. Comments can be directed to the Murfreesboro Planning Department by calling 615-893-6441 or e-mailing planning@murfreesborotn.gov. Public hearings before the Planning Commission and City Council will be scheduled later.
