[ARCHIVED] Mayday News: Brewery to host art, music, foodfest July 20


Mayday Brewery will feature art, music and food at Mayday on Saturday, July 20, for a day of 14 local artists, tie-dye booth, 2 food trucks and live music from 2:45 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.  Music features Rock n' Roll, Blues and Pop/Rock.

Local artist will have tents set up for treasure seekers to browse. Artists include The Rhinovirus, Tara Armstrong – Artist, World of Woohoo - Gregory Lannom's Arts & Stuff, Meagan Armes Art, Brandy Henry, Cody Hale Art, Little Bird Lettering, Triple Six Art, Creo Crafting, and Moonlit Wares and more. There will also be a tie-dye tent where you can bring an article to tie-dye for $5, or purchase a white t-shirt and tie-dye for $10.  Pop-up boutique Kismet will also be in attendance with their unique women’s styles.

Live music will start at 2:45 with The Festivus Players, followed by Thunder Frog, then a blues jam hosted by local blues-man Joey Fletcher. Joey encourages musicians to come show their skills, “We always have a great time, the more players we have, the bigger the party.” Brent Byrd will go on stage at 7:30 followed by CoopertheBand to close out the night with their unique rock/pop style.

The day will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Mayday parking lot with a bike ride to benefit Multiple Sclerosis a 30-mile or 50-mile ride. For details visit 

Mrs Grissom’s Food Truck will be on site from 1:00-10:00pm offering buffalo chicken nachos, chicken wrap, and pimento grilled cheese that is drool-worthy. If you are in the mood for delicious Mexican cuisine, Catarina’s Food Truck will be on site from 1:00-10:00pm.

Mayday Founder Ozzy Nelson loves the local flavor of the event, “Come out and support local art, local charity, local music and local beer, and meet some new friends as well. This is going to be an incredible community event.” 

Nelson adds, "We'll have some great food, music and artists, and our brewers will have some new small batch beers that will excite your summer palate."
