[ARCHIVED] MFRD Responds to Kitchen Fire

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s Districts 1 and 8 responded to a kitchen fire at 1106 Main Street just after 8:00 Friday evening.

When crews arrived to the house, which is split into three separate apartments, they discovered heavy smoke coming from the structure.

Crews entered Apartment 1, discovered flames in the stove area, and worked quickly to extinguish the fire.

The fire damage was contained to the kitchen area in the unit of origin.

According to Acting Captain Randy Shaw, a total of five occupants were displaced. Those who did not have a place to go were assisted by the Red Cross.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown. MFRD’s Fire Marshal’s Office was called to conduct a routine investigation.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
