Murfreesboro's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will usher in the holiday season, Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. on the Historic Public Square.
The Main Street Murfreesboro event will include live entertainment, beautiful window displays, the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus aboard a Murfreesboro Fire Department engine, and lighting of the official Christmas Tree.
Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland and Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron will be on hand to flip the switch to ring in the holiday season.
Enjoy performances by local children's choirs by Homer Pittard Campus School, John Pittard Elementary School, Central Magnet School, Jimmie Lou Tate's Dancers School, Murfreesboro Police officer Skylar Harris and the cast of the Center for the Arts production of "Miracle on 34th Street."
