The Murfreesboro City Council will meet in a special meeting Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 1 p.m., in Council Chambers at City Hall, 111 West Vine Street, to hear an update on the recruitment for a new City Manager with consultant Strategic Government Resources. Immediately following, Council will discuss 2018-19 “Budget Review.”

Council contracted with representatives of Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to lead the search to replace Rob Lyons, who resigned in December 2017.
Council last met with (SGR) on Feb. 8, 2018, to hear an outline of the consultant’s process, including a candidate profile, advertising and recruitment, initial screening of applicants, evaluation of semi-finalists, evaluation of finalists, and interviewing process.
The City Manager position was posted nationally, March 18 through April 19.
