The incredible true story, Catch Me If You Can tells the life story about teenager Frank Abagnale, Jr. who, at the age of 21, had forged 2.5 million dollars in checks and traveled the country posing as pilots, doctors, and lawyers, with less than a high school education!
Based on the hit DreamWorks film featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, the musical first premiered on Broadway in March 2011. The production was nominated for four Tony Awards with Norbert Leo Butz winning for Best Actor.
Performances at The Center run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., November 3-19.
Nick Lewandowski, Frank Abagnale Jr. in the show-- shares, “The one thing that I love about Catch Me If You Can is the fact that it actually happened. Being able to portray someone that actually exists and did all these crazy things is just an awesome experience for me.”
The Center’s production features a talented cast of actors from across the area. Nate Paul and Bethany True portray Frank’s parents, Paula and Frank Sr.; Mark David Williams portrays FBI agent Carl Hanratty; and Hanna Mansfield plays Frank’s love interest, nurse Brenda Strong. The production is directed by newcomer Corey Shadd with music direction by Stephen Belk and Stephen Burnett, and choreography by Julie Wilcox.
