- Oaklands Mansion served as the perfect setting for the unveiling of a refurbished 1892 Ahrens Steam Fire Engine and the City’s first 100-foot aerial ladder truck. MFRD Chief Mark Foulks provided remarks at the historic event.
- If you’ve seen orange barrels throughout town, its probably part of the City’s Congestion Hot Spot Program to help relieve traffic with road widenings, added turn lanes and extended roadways enhance traffic flow. See your tax dollars at work!
- Plus, a new Family Resource Center opens in Olive Branch Church to help fill the needs of students and families of Murfreesboro City Schools.
- Murfreesboro served as the host site for hands-on firefighter training for the national Firehouse Expo convention. The future home of the Doug Young Public Safety Training Facility on Bridge Avenue, a former public housing complex, provided firefighters with the opportunity to train.
- Plus, the Special Census, the Tennessee Steam Festival, and Stormwater Treatment Devices.
