Residents and passersby in the Franklin Heights area Tuesday and Wednesday be aware that MFRD is hosting over 200 Firefighters from around the nation for live burning exercises as part of Firehouse Expo.

There will be SMOKE in the area, but there is no danger.

FIREHOUSE EXPO comes to Nashville, Tennessee

Firehouse Expo 2016 is hosting its first annual conference and exposition in Nashville; October 18-22nd. Widely regarded as the largest fire service event on the East Coast, the Firehouse Expo allows conference attendees to find specific, focused training sessions and provides an exhibit floor filled with resources. Firehouse Expo brings together experts from across the country to address today’s realities facing the fire and emergency services.

This year’s conference features some of the following:
• 140 conference sessions from the nations most accomplished and respected instructors
• 11 hands-on-training classes including 5 LIVE FIRE CLASSES, highrise firefighting and advanced vehicle extrication operations.
• Personal Protective Equipment Pavilion
• Live fire & equipment demos
• Nashville Fire Department Ride-Along Program
• Community Risk Reduction Workshop

More than 10,000 firefighters including, chiefs, captains, and lieutenants, will meet in Music City to hone their skills, become familiar with the latest gear and, equipment and gain new expertise to advance their careers.
