[ARCHIVED] Two Victims LifeFlighted from Three Car MVA

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department's Ladders 2 and 9 and Rescue 9 responded to a three car motor vehicle accident on Interstate 24 in the eastbound lanes between mile markers 76 and 78 just after 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

Rescue 9's crew arrived on scene first and began extrication of one victim. The female victim was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford via ambulance. However, according to Captain Joe Barrett, LifeFlight is in route to transfer her to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

A six year old girl from one of the other vehicles involved in the accident is also being LifeFlighted. The extent of the victims' injuries are unknown at this time.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is on scene conducting an investigation. All inquiries related to this incident shall be requested through THP.
