Plein Air Cannonsburg Village

Join us at Plien Air events for art in your community as local artists lead you through diferent projects with the goal of introducing you to new mediums. Underwater Egg Hunt and Spring Festival

Bring your basket or bag and see how many eggs you can collect! While you wait for your session or if you don't feel like getting wet, join us for our Spring Festival in the gym. We will have games, snacks, and fun! Children 3 and under must have a parent in the water with them. Personal flotation devices required for those who cannot swim. Register online or in person beginning Tuesday, March 14. Only in person registration on April 8. Each session will be 30 minutes of hunting eggs. 50 participants per session.

Intro to Backpacking Course at the Wilderness Station

Have you ever wanted to try backpacking, but didn’t know where to start? Join us for an intro to backpacking course where one day a month December - April we will meet and go over the basics of backpacking. As the course goes on we will go on different length hikes of different difficulties. For the final day of the course we will do an overnight backpacking trip to put our new skills to the test! The class will meet December 30, January 20, February 25, March 25 and April 22 @ 4PM. Backpacking backpack, sleeping pad, and tent can be provided. Registration is required via the link. Presentation: Caring for Your Cast Iron with a Blacksmith at Cannonsburgh

Do you use cast iron skillets or dutch ovens to cook meals in your home or on an open fire? Join us in the Blacksmith Shop at Cannonsburgh Village with blacksmith, Richard Zago, as he shares about cooking with cast iron and how to care for it. Richard will also discuss some best practices that you may already know, but a reminder never hurts. Reservations are now open for the presentation on Caring for Your Cast Iron with Blacksmith, Richard Zago, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cannonsburgh Village on April 27. Admission is Free. Spiders, beetles, and ants oh my! Come out the Wilderness Station to learn about some of the common bugs and spiders we can find here in Middle Tennessee. Cooking for 1 or 2: Eating Smart, Moving More

Sometimes cooking for one or two may seem like it’s not worth the trouble; however, everyone needs a variety of foods to stay healthy. Homemade meals usually are more nutritious, better tasting, and more economical, compared with restaurants. During these interactive sessions, we will discuss quick, low-cost recipes, smart shopping, and how to reduce food waste. MTSU students will have "booths" with health information or screenings for you to select from. They will check BP or BMI, have a foot screening, exercise demos, and lots of health information. No sign up required. Room 104

Chair Yoga at St. Clair

Improving flexibility, relieving stiffness, and creating a happy mental state are a few benefits that chair yoga provides for our bodies. Participants may choose one or two days of the week for chair yoga. *Class fee is $5 a month for each day a week. If a student chooses two day week, the fee is $10 a month. If a student chooses one day, it will be $5 a month. Sign up for April’s class begins April 1.
