This department is responsible for the maintenance of all storm drainage systems within the City. We repair and replace damaged structures and sections of storm drainage pipes as necessary. We also make improvements to existing systems to improve the drainage in flood prone areas. All field personnel perform these functions with the use of backhoes, dump trucks, and other light equipment. In certain cases involving structure blockages, we use a 1,000 gallon pressurized drain cleaning truck to remove the restrictions.

The annual Concrete and Storm Drainage contract is bid each year with the purpose of major concrete and drainage improvements requiring manpower and equipment that exceed departmental capabilities. These projects consist of major storm drain installations, curb and gutter replacements, and sidewalk renovations.
