Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals


The Board is created pursuant to Murfreesboro City Code Chapter 7 – Buildings; Chapter 12 – Fire Prevention; Chapter 14 – Weeds and Trash; Chapter 15 – Gas; Chapter 17 – Property Standards; Chapter 23 – Plumbing. The Board shall have the power, as further defined in the following adopted codes: Standard Building Code, Standard Fire Code, Standard Excavation Code, International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Energy Code and International Property Maintenance Code, to hear appeals of decisions, determinations, orders and notices of the building official, and to establish rules for its own procedures.

Board of Electrical Examiners


The Board of Electrical Examiners is an elected body of nine members.  All members are elected for a four year term.  The role is to oversee electrical laws and regulations and licensing requirements set forth by the City of Murfreesboro.


Meetings are held quarterly as needed at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at Murfreesboro City Hall.
