Football

The City of Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department has offered youth football to the citizens of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County for over 50 years. The Murfreesboro Football League is the longest running, most successful Youth Football Program in Murfreesboro.

Over the years many players from the Murfreesboro Football League have gone on to play middle school, high school, and college football. The Murfreesboro Football League focuses on developing young players, training coaches, and providing well qualified professional staff. Each season, the league administration emphasizes the importance of good sportsmanship while participating in healthy competition.

Murfreesboro Flag Football League Sign Ups

Sign ups will be held May 1 through July 15 on Monday through Friday at the following locations:

Player evaluations will be held on Friday, July 14 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 15 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at  McFadden in the gymnasium. Tennis shoes preferred. Please check in at the front desk.

Friday starting at 6:00 p.m. or Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m.
 5-6 years old and 7-9 years old as September 1, 2022
Friday starting at 7:00 p.m. or Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.
 10-13 years old as of September 1, 2022

Ages / Divisions

  • 5 - 6 Flag Division (Flag Division, no weight limit)
  • 7 - 9 Flag Division (Flag Division, no weight limit)
  • 10-13 Flag Division (Flag Division, no weight limit)

The cost is $ 75 per player. 

Practice

Practice will start August 14, 2023 at the Murfreesboro Youth Football Complex (next to Murfreesboro Airport; behind Star*Plex).  There will be no practice or games on Labor Day, September 4, 2023 or during Fall Break.

Games

Games will start on Saturday, September 9, 2023 for 5-6 flag and 7-9 flag football. The 10-13 flag division will begin games on September 11, 2023.  For the schedule and scores of the current season, please visit our Murfreesboro Football League Website.
