The Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Management Division regulates discharges to the City of Murfreesboro's sewer collection system by commercial FOG generating establishments. Management of FOG is just one of many functions that are essential in protecting public health and the environment by ensuring that our water resources collection and recovery systems are operated efficiently and effectively and within the parameters of the City's NPDES permit.
The City of Murfreesboro’s Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Management Policy is established and authorized by Article III, Chapter 33, Section 36 of the Municipal Code (Sewer Use Ordinance), which was developed under guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC).
