The Murfreesboro Police Department is pleased to announce the existence of a Meet-Up Spot at the police headquarters building located at 1004 N. Highland Ave.

Safe Environment

The Safe Meet-Up Spot provides a safe environment for people, who buy, sell, or trade items in private party transactions, with people they don't know. Additionally, the area can be used as a safe and neutral site for child custody exchanges. The goal of the Meet-Up Spot is to help reduce and deter fraudulent transactions, thefts, violent custody disputes, and robberies.

The Meet-Up Spot consists of parking spaces marked with Safe Exchange Zone signage and are under 24-hour surveillance video. In case of an emergency call 9-1-1.

Safety Tips

As always, please adhere to the following safety tips:

Be extra cautious in buying/selling valuable items
Complete transactions during daylight hours
Do not invite strangers into your home, and do not go to theirs
Insist on meeting at the Safe Exchange Zone or at least a public place
Take your cell phone with you
Trust your instincts and be cautious of scams

The Safe Meet-Up Spot parking spaces are available free on a first-come, first-serve basis.
