Conservation

Welcome to the Conservation and Natural Resource Management section of Outdoor Murfreesboro.  In addition to all the wonderful environmental education and outdoor adventure programs put on by the interpretive team at the Wilderness Station, Outdoor Murfreesboro’s Natural Resource Team works towards sustainable management practices for Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation's natural areas including habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and landscaping for native pollinators and water quality improvement.

We also seek to outfit Murfreesboro’s residents with the knowledge and tools to practice environmental conservation at home and in the community including:

  • reconnecting fragmented habitat
  • conducting citizen science projects for species preservation
  • engaging in land stewardship.
