Emergency Communications Training Program

The Emergency Communications Training and Evaluation Program (CTEP) consists of 7 weeks of classroom training and 700 hours of on-floor training. The CTEP consists of 2 separate training programs, CTEP Emergency Communications Specialist I and CTEP Emergency Communications Specialist II. The CTEP CSI and CSII programs are designed to provide you with the basic skills, knowledge, and confidence to successfully perform your duties as an Emergency Communications Specialist.

Both training programs and their phases are cumulative and build onto one another. Successful completion of the CTEP Emergency Communications Specialist I must be obtained to progress to the CTEP Emergency Communications Specialist II. Both programs are based on required hours of activity, certification attainment, and successful completion of a final comprehensive written exam.
