Public Records

In accordance with Tennessee law, most records maintained by the City of Murfreesboro are public records available for review. Some exceptions include records related to an ongoing criminal investigation, certain business tax records, and certain personal information in employee files.  Please see the Public Records Policy below for more information.

Requests for inspection or duplication are granted in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 10, Chapter 7, Part 5.  Requests for copies must be submitted on the form below.

The completed form and proof of Tennessee citizenship (such as TN Driver’s License) should be brought to the Finance & Tax Department at City Hall, 1st Floor, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130, or may be submitted electronically.
