Employees or teams may be nominated for the award by other city employees, by the general public, community members, etc.

The guidelines for eligibility and the timing of such awards are outlined in the STARS Employee Recognition Program Rules and Procedures for Fiscal Year 2013, which has been provided to each department for review. Also, the STARS program was added as Section 1038 to the city’s employee handbook. The policy details the rewards which are to be received. Each month, one employee, or possibly a team of employees, will be publicly recognized for their achievements.

Just complete the online nomination application or print one out to submit your nomination to the Human Resources department. Nomination applications for the program are due no later than the last business day of the month to be considered for that month’s award. The decision on the award will be announced by the tenth day of the following month.
