Special Events Team
Special Events Team TentPurpose & Service
The purpose of the Special Events Team is to provide service excellence by engaging the community, educating the public on fire and life safety, and promoting a positive image for the city and the department.

You may have seen the team set up at events such as the Duck Derby, Uncle Dave Macon Days, and the city’s annual Celebration Under the Stars fireworks display. A big red tent is hard to miss, with plenty of plastic fire hats and Frisbees for the kids and other take-a-ways for adults. The team also provides a misting tent in the summer to cool down hot event-goers.  

Team Members

The team consists of off duty fire personnel who are either trained first responders or EMT-IV’s. Therefore, the team is also able to provide medical and emergency assistance when necessary.
