Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The City will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at:
4765 Florence Road
Murfreesboro, TN 37130

Please contact either the City of Murfreesboro or Rutherford County's Solid Waste Departments for the next collection dates.
No paint will be accepted. Here are the oil-based collection and hazardous waste collection flyers from past events.

Items collected include:
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Herbicides
  • Household cleaners
  • Other household chemicals
  • Pesticides

Oil-Based Paint Collection
In compliance with standards set by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), Rutherford County and the City of Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department will host an oil-based paint collection in the Spring and Fall each year at:
1140 Haley Road
Murfreesboro, TN 37130 

Other Household Waste
Batteries can be turned in to the vendor from which you purchased them and pesticides, herbicides, household cleaners and other chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs (including those designed to replace incandescent light bulbs), and other household wastes should be warehoused for disposal during the annual collection.

Electronics, including home computers, peripherals, and televisions may be recycled at Rutherford County's collection site Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at:
