Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The actual Household Hazardous Waste Collection is November 2, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon at:
4765 Florence Road
Murfreesboro, TN 37130

No paint will be accepted at this event. Here are the oil-based collection and hazardous waste collection flyers.

Items collected have historically include:
  • Batteries
  • Computer peripherals
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Herbicides
  • Home computers
  • Household cleaners
  • Household hazardous wastes
  • Old paint
  • Other household chemicals
  • Pesticides
  • Televisions

Oil-Based Paint Collection
In compliance with standards set by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), Rutherford County and the City of Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department will host an oil-based paint collection October 20 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at:
1140 Haley Road
Murfreesboro, TN 37130

Other Household Waste
Batteries can be turned in to the vendor from which you purchased them and pesticides, herbicides, household cleaners and other chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs (including those designed to replace incandescent light bulbs), and other household wastes should be warehoused for disposal during the annual collection.

Electronics
Electronics, including home computers, peripherals, and televisions may be recycled at Rutherford County's collection site Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at:
