Customer Service Department

Hours - Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. A department employee is on call after hours, weekends and holidays to respond to emergency needs. For after-hours assistance, call (615) 893-1223.

Service - Service is initiated by visiting the Customer Service office. No deposit is required; however there is a $25 non-refundable service initiation fee for new or transferred service, and a photo ID is required. Service can usually be provided the same day for requests made before 3 p.m.. There is a $45 charge to have water turned on after hours. Customers will be billed until service is cancelled.

Billing - The Water & Sewer Department reads every meter and bills every customer each month. Bills may be paid by bank draft, at the drive-up window, walk-in service counter, or night depository, located at 300 NW Broad St. Payments by mail should be sent to Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Department, P.O. Box 897, Murfreesboro, TN 37133. A voided check is required to initiate bank draft. A form is also available to terminate or change your bank draft.

Leak Adjustments - A bill that is substantially higher than normal because of a water leak may be eligible for reduction. Call the Customer Service Department at (615) 848-3209 before downloading and submitting this form.

Pool Adjustment Form
You may be eligible for a pool adjustment credit when you fill your swimming pool. Please call Customer Service at 848-3209 before downloading and submitting this form.

An automatic sewer adjustment is made during the months of April through October whenever the usage during these months exceeds the average winter usage by 20 percent.

Stopped Sewer - Call (615) 893-1223 at any time. No charge will be made for identifying the problem and clearing the line on the city side of the clean-out. The department cannot, however, clear blockages within the customer's plumbing.

Industrial Customers - The Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Department Pretreatment Coordinator, Bill Love, is the primary contact for existing and potential industrial customers.
