Street Department
Right of Way Construction Permit System
This program is administered by our Right of Way/Safety Coordinator, Administrative Secretary, and one part time Inspector. All parties considering performing any construction within the ROW or in any easements must obtain a permit and post a surety document before the work can be performed. The site is monitored before, during and after the construction process to assure the repairs will comply with our standard specifications. The Right of Way/Safety Coordinator is also responsible for the enforcement of safety standards as they apply to work zones during the construction process. The Coordinator has the authority to require the contractors to stop work if in violation of the standards established in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and correct the situation before the contractor can resume work.
Annual Concrete and Storm Drainage Contract
This contract is bid each year for the purpose of major storm drainage and concrete improvements, which require manpower and equipment that exceed departmental capabilities. These projects consist of major storm drainage installations, curb and gutter replacements, and sidewalk renovations. This contract ranges from $500,000 to $800,000 based on need. Our Public Works inspector administers this contract with the aid of one part time inspector.
