St. Clair Senior Center
Senior Center Commission
The purpose of the commission is to advocate, correlate, develop, promote and assess programs, services and activities to fulfill the mission of the senior center. See the current meeting agenda for this commission.
The director oversees the day-to-day operation of the senior center. The program directors are responsible for planning, implementing, publicizing and evaluating a well-rounded assortment of programs and activities to appeal to a variety of individual tastes.
The care director works specifically on services for homebound, frail or institutionalized older adults. These include telephone reassurance, a visitation program, referrals to other resources in the community, maintaining a list of available sitters, and other types of social services.
Part-time van drivers drive the center van for recreational outings for participants and monthly outings for local nursing home residents.
Annually, over 325 volunteers assist with many scheduled activities and services provided by the senior center and more volunteers are welcome.
