Public Transportation
Welcome to Rover - Murfreesboro's first public transportation system
The City of Murfreesboro Public Transportation Department is responsible for the administration and operation of public transportation service (Rover) within the City of Murfreesboro. It also works with and/or assists other regional providers with mobility issues.
Rover began service to the public in April 2007, providing comfortable and convenient bus transportation for the citizens of Murfreesboro along six routes throughout the city.

How to Ride Rover
- First review the system map to learn where the routes go.
- Second, determine the routes that run closest to where you are coming from and where you are going (your origination and destination points).
- Third, identify and review the route closest to your destination.
- Fourth, locate the time on that route closest to the time you need to be at your destination.
- Fifth, "backtrack" your planning to allow time for possible transfer at the downtown transfer station and to determine what time you need to catch the bus.
