Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Commission
The purpose of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Commission is to provide for recreational opportunities and facilities for all residents of Murfreesboro. The Commission shall have jurisdiction over all recreation programs, park areas, and buildings set aside for recreation in the City of Murfreesboro. Its members and their terms of service include:

On behalf of the Murfrees-boro Parks and Recreation Commission and Department (MPRD), I would like to welcome you to our web page.
The parks and recreation department's mission is to plan, organize, implement and promote a comprehensive system of parks, programs and facilities to enhance Murfreesboro's quality of life. This philosophy encourages mental, social, and physical well-being for all our citizens. We sincerely hope Murfreesboro is a better place to live due to the efforts of our staff in providing these facilities and programs for everyone.
MPRD has been among the first to set a pace in Tennessee and the southeast for outstanding parks, community centers, state of the art facilities and programs. We will continue to strive and enhance our parks and recreational opportunities by working hand in hand with all our fine citizens.
