Backcountry Campground

The campground is a 1-mile hike from the Wilderness Station parking lot. All campers are required to obtain a permit from the Wilderness Station prior to camping. Before you can camp, you must take a “Wilderness Awareness Workshop”.

Everyone must take a “Wilderness Awareness Workshop” scheduled with the Wilderness Station staff prior to planning and scheduling your first campout. This 45 minute informative session conveys the points of the nationally recognized “Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics” program and explains some of the basic rules for this educational camping facility.

The Wilderness Awareness Workshop will be held on the following dates and times (registration is required):

• Friday, August 4 6-6:45p.m.
• Saturday, September 23 5-5:45pm
• Thursday, September 28 6-6:45pm
• Saturday, October 21 3-3:45pm
