Each of the 10 schools in the city system is committed to excellence in education and to assuring that each child has academic and personal success. It is a school system that is known for innovation that brings results for children. These results are evidenced in the system's excellent test scores. Students at every grade level and in every subject score above national and state averages on comprehensive assessment tests administered annually.

Rutherford County Schools
The Rutherford County School system is dedicated to maintaining low pupil-teacher ratios, improving all children's reading skills and providing every teacher and classroom with the technology and training to prepare students for success in the 21st century. It is proud of our past and present and they continue to look ahead and challenge ourselves to provide the best education in the nation.
Middle Tennessee State University
MTSU is the fastest growing university in Tennessee with a student enrollment of 19,000. Not only is the university growing in terms of student enrollment and campus facilities, it is growing in terms of excellence.
With one of the highest admission requirements in the state among public universities, MTSU's entering freshman scores on college board exams continue to rise. The average ACT score has exceeded state and national averages for the past five years. We invite you to visit the campus to see firsthand the new state-of-the-art library which includes the latest in equipment and technology. Other recent additions to the campus include the Business and Aerospace building, the Student Recreation Center, an expanded football stadium, Scarlett Commons which includes the latest design in student housing, Greek Row, and there are others. The student is the number one commitment at MTSU. They pride themselves in creating an atmosphere that promotes learning and personal development.
Tennessee Technology Center
The Tennessee Technology Center at Murfreesboro offers training in dental assisting, industrial maintenance, computer technology, computer aided design, GED program, and others.
We are proud of the new, state-of-the-art technology that is a major part of our instruction and our four new programs. Program instructors have Occupational Advisory Committees that keep them up-to-date on current equipment and techniques in use in industry.
