Councilmember Doug
Young
Doug Young was elected to his first four-year term
in the 2002 election and was re-elected to a second four-year term in 2006.
Young serves as council representative on the Murfreesboro Planning Commission, St. Clair Senior Center Advisory Board and the Urban Environmental Commission. He has also served on the Board of Zoning Appeals.
A lifelong Murfreesboro resident, Young attended
Hobgood Elementary School and graduated from Central
High School and MTSU in 1971.
He
served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973.
Young has operated City Tile and Floor Covering
Company for 28 years and has served as Rutherford County
Chamber of Commerce director, MTSU Foundation Trustee
and as an elder in the First Presbyterian
Church.
