Goals

The goal of the government access channel is to provide local governmental programming to the citizens of Murfreesboro. The fundamental purposes of the channel are to promote the education of the City's citizens concerning government by cablecasting meetings of the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, such as City Council, City School Board, Planning Commission, Historic Zoning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Parks and Recreation Commission, Stormwater Advisory Committee, as the Cable Television Commission deems appropriate and beneficial to the City's citizens; to produce and cablecast programs informing the citizenry at large about programs and public services provided by city departments and city-sponsored agencies; to promote the education of citizens by presenting educational and cultural programs beneficial to the City's citizens; to produce and cablecast programs explaining the opportunities for citizen participation in programs and services; and to produce and cablecast programs providing information on public health, safety and welfare issues.
