Murfreesboro Airport

Improvements

Through the continuous pursuit of federal and state assistance, the Airport has been able to install a new non-directional radio beacon facility improving the landing capabilities of aircraft in poor weather conditions, install a new full parallel taxiway system with improved guidance signs and lighting system, install perimeter safety fencing to keep deer from entering onto the runway, construct a 30 unit t-hangar complex, and renovate the terminal administration building, expand the ramp, and much, much more.

A Hangar Construction Project is currently underway. This project will bring an additional 11 46 ft. wide T-hangars, 32 42 ft. wide T-hangars, and 4 62 ft. wide Box-hangars on line starting August 1, 2007. This project also includes a taxiway /ramp expansion along with an aircraft wash area providing an environmentally safe means by which to wash the aircraft. This $3.6 million dollar project is funded through the Federal Vision 100 funds, several State airport improvement contracts, and local funds. The Airport expects to retire the debt service associated with this project in less than a twenty-year period.
