Stones River Greenway extension

Phase I - Old Fort Park area

Project Description: .75 miles of 13-feet-wide trail. Restroom/Concessions/Pavilion, Plazas, fencing, entry signage and landscaping.
Status: Completed in 2006.

 

Phase II - Old Fort Park to Highway 99 (Cason Trailhead) 

Project Description:  three miles of 13-feet-wide trail, a large trailhead with pavilions and restroom, two overlooks, several boardwalk sections, a major bridge crossing of the Stones River, a smaller bridge, fencing, entry signage and landscaping.
Status:  Completed, Trailhead open. 

 

Phase III:  Cason Trailhead to west and middle fork split of the Stones River

Project Description:  one mile of 13-feet-wide trail and one overlook, fencing, and landscaping.
Status:  Completed, Trailhead open. See Greenway map including proposed Phase IV.

 

Phase IV:  Stones River west and middle fork split to Barfield Crescent Park 

Project Description:  2.25 miles of 13-feet-wide trail, .65 miles of spur trails, two bridges crossing the Stones River, three trailheads, two overlooks, fencing, entry signage and landscaping.
Status:  Construction Planning in progress
