City Hall Art

The City Hall Art Committee is responsible for advancing the awareness and support of our visual arts resources in Murfreesboro and for scheduling exhibitions of community artists and artists of local interest in the rotunda and lobbies of City Hall. The committee is also responsible for encouraging gifts of art to the City. The Committee consists of seven members who are appointed for staggered three-year terms. The Committee was created by Resolution of the City Council on Aug. 15, 1991.

Current members and their terms are listed in the directory of Boards and Commissions.  The City Hall Art Committee meets in the Administrative Conference Room, City Hall, 111 W. Vine St., Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Check the meetings calendar for dates and times.  All meetings are open to the public. For more information, contact Eric Snyder.

The City Hall rotunda offers artists an ideal forum to showcase their work, with more than 606 square feet in the main round of the rotunda and another 550-plus square feet along the stairways. The open two-story ceiling with indirect natural light and flourescent lighting work together to perfectly highlight the artist's talent.  For additional information, see the flyout menu under Art in the navigation menu.

Exhibits in the rotunda are free and open to the public between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except observed holidays. City Hall is located at 111 West Vine St., Murfreesboro, Tenn. Here is the current year's schedule of exhibits.
