City Employee Benefits
The City of Murfreesboro offers competitive salaries and an excellent benefit program. It should be noted that a revised pension plan will be put into effect once finalized. It will apply to new employees only. The current plan will remain in effect for those already employed with the city.
Health Insurance
Medical care and hospitalization benefits are available through Blue Cross/Blue Shield or United Healthcare. Employees are free to choose from either of these providers based on which contract best serves their personal needs.
The City funds 80 percent of the premium amount and the employee's share can be paid for on a pre-tax, tax-free basis.
Dental coverage is also provided to cover expenses for the prevention of dental diseases and problems, designated restoration and repair procedures, and orthodontics.
Employees should refer to their benefit booklet for additional information.
