Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children aged 3-4. The program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun and safe environment. Also, it prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. It will be a seven-week program. Registration will be held throughout the month of March at Sports*Com, McFadden Community Center, Patterson Park Community Center and the Main Office at Barfield Crescent Park. Space is limited. For ages 3-4. Registration begins in March and runs throughout the month. Program will start April 9 and last seven weeks.

Interested in container gardening and don’t know where to begin? This class answers the questions: how to provide the best light & temperature, watering, the best soil for container gardening, feeding, drainage and the best vegetables for container gardening. You will walk away fully inspired and with your own container garden. TSU Extension Agent & County Director Anthony Tuggle will be the instructor for this class. Must preregister by calling 615-893-2141 before March 17. Ages: Under 14 must have an adult present

Decorate your very own doormat during our outdoor crafting class. We will be painting designs on a coir doormat that you can take home after the event. All supplies and materials will be available. Limited to 10 participants. Ages: 18+

Meet us at the Manson Pike Trailhead for some fishy adventures! We will provide fishing poles/bait and engage in some catch-and-release! Licenses aren’t required for under 13. Registration is required by calling 615-217-3017 or emailing hmeyer@murfreesborotn.gov so that we don’t run out of fishing poles! Ages: 5-12

The Miracle League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities, which causes them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional Baseball leagues. To help the athletes, the Miracle League uses a “buddy” system – pairing each player with an able-bodied peer. Four games are scheduled each Saturday. Join us for a 3.5-mile hike to Sycamore Falls at South Cumberland, featuring varying difficulty levels. We will have plenty of photo opportunities and a snack at the falls. Registration is required at murfreesboroparks.com. Transportation will not be provided. For ages 12+.

Join us for a short program introducing you to one of our education animals! We will talk about the animals’ cool adaptations and natural history. All ages are welcome, and this program is free. Ages: All ages

Open Tai Chi class is open to all levels, beginners, intermediate and advanced. Must sign up and pay for class by March 5. Cost: $10 per month Limit: 10 Room P204
