  1. Hiking to Sycamore Falls

    July 28, 2018, All Day @ Meet at Wilderness Station at Barfield Crescent Park

    For ages 12 and up. Enjoy walking amongst giant hemlocks and beside the babbling Fiery Gizzard Creek wile on your way to Hanes Hole Falls, Blue Hole Falls, and the roaring Sycamore Falls. Approximately 3 hours of moderate hiking is required for this trip. Transportation is provided. All participants must fill out an Outdoor Trip from at least 10 days prior to the trip. Reservations are required.

  2. Omega Psi Phi Basketball Camp

    The men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity will hold their 28th annual Terry Looper Basketball Camp. This event is designed to provide quality basketball skills instruction and give children an opportunity to meet with the Middle Tennessee State University basketball players in a fun and safe environment.   3. Community CPR / AED

    Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in adults. CPR can double a person's chance of survival. This class will cover basic CPR and AED usage as well as choking emergencies for adults, children and infants. Perfect for the average person who wants to know how to help someone in a moment of crisis. Space is limited, and preregistration is required by July 6.

    For ages 5 and up. Do you like to eat apples, bananas or pears? Do you like to breathe oxygen? If so, you have plants to thank. Come learn about the parts of a plant, plant life cycles, the importance of plants, and more. We will plant wildflower seeds at the end of the hour for you to take home with you.

    For ages 15 and up. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline consisting of slow movements and postures done in a fluid and relaxed manner. it is used to reduce stress, increase flexibility, improve muscle strength, increase stamina and agility and increase the feeling of well-being.

  8. Movies Under the Stars

    Movies Under the Stars returns this summer with a line up of family-orientated films. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, or truck bed. Movie lists are also available on site, on the Parks and Rec Facebook page, and at all MPRD facilities. Refreshments are available for purchase. Cancelations due to weather are posted on MPRD’s Facebook page.
