Summary
The City is looking for partners to develop the Murfreesboro Gateway and to attract quality jobs for our community. The process to acquire property within the Gateway includes the following steps:
- Initial Meetings with Rutherford County Chamber Economic Development Director to discuss project, jobs created, amount of investment and timetable for construction;
- If the project is consistent with the goals and vision of the Gateway Project, a meeting will be held to negotiate terms and conditions, including price per square foot with Gateway Chairman. The prospect will incorporate these terms and conditions into a letter of intent to the full Gateway Commission;
- Submission of letter of intent to Gateway Commission
- Consideration of letter of intent by Gateway Commission
- If letter of intent is approved by Gateway Commission, preparation of standard city contract by City Attorney
- Consideration of contract by Gateway Commission
- If recommended for approval by Gateway Commission, consideration of land sale contract by City Council
- Land Sale Closing
- Design review process as outlined in design guidelines
- Standard city planning, zoning and codes processes
