Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department responded to the Tennessee Valley Authority building located at 650 Middle Tennessee Boulevard just after 3:30 Thursday afternoon for a possible propane leak.
According to Battalion Chief Tim Swann, around 12 employees had been evacuated from the building as responders were arriving on scene. A pipe providing propane from a tank to a generator was emitting gas.
Crews pulled hose lines and set up the aerial for precaution as they cut off the valve to the tank. They are now monitoring the air quality in and around the structure and as soon levels are favorable, employees will be allowed to re-enter.
