    Citizens Fire Academy is a chance for citizens to better appreciate and understand the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department employees and the services the department offers. During the six-week course, students receive the opportunity to participate in activities and services provided by MFRD. Students are able to try on turnout gear, experience climbing a 65’ aerial, practice extrication, run through the firefighter ability test, and much more.

    We’ll cover basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, wait at the door, watch me, walk on a loose leash, and come when called.     We’ll cover basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, leave it, wait at the door, watch me, walk on a loose leash, and come when called. Socialization is encouraged with both people and other puppies, and trainers will be on hand to offer advice on house-training, bite inhibition, jumping up and other inappropriate behaviors. Classes meet twice a week for a two week period. For puppies’ protection, they must have three DHLPP vaccinations plus a Kennel Cough (Bordatella) vaccination in order to attend.   1. Imagine A Day Without Water High School Video Contest

    September 8, 2020 - October 16, 2020 @ Online/Virtual- If you are a high school student or if you know of a high school student who would be interested in, have them head over to www.murfreesborotn.gov/IADWW, read our contest guidelines, and complete the entry form for participation!

    The Murfreesboro Water Community Affairs Division is asking all high school students to help bring awareness to the value of water with our Imagine A Day Without Water Video Contest! Students will produce, film, and edit a 30-60 second video that represents the importance of water and the value it has in our everyday lives, including at least 1 of 3 themes: The Value of Water, Water/Wastewater Infrastructure, and/or Imagine A Day Without Water. At the end of the campaign, the best video for each grade level (Grades 9-12) will be chosen by a Selection Committee and rewarded a $100 Visa Gift Card. In addition one teacher whose class submits one collaborative video entry will also be selected by our Selection Committee and compete to win a $100 Visa Gift Card, to be used for their classroom. A total of $500 in prizes will rewarded!
